the mounted section

dismounted section (inc. marker for horse holder)

various beauty shots... Wink

All figures are Russian Don Cossacks in German service, all converted
from 20mm Battlefield Miniatures figures.
Hopefully i'll get some better pictures tomorrow with better light!

various work in progress pictures...

Mounted Figures

all the conversion work is in either "green stuff" (duro) putty or "brown stuff"
work tends to be slow as i get bored after an hour... i think my fault lies
with the fact that i let stuff cure before doing the next "bit"
(i have fat fingers and if i do too much then detail gets smushed!)

to be honest i think i was a tad over ambitious with these... LOL!

new tunic skirts and pockets were added to give the figures German uniforms,
three of the figures had new upper torso's to add variety and interest to
the group (i nicked the idea off Dougie Rolling Eyes )

the torso's of the riders were all a little skinny, so most have had at least
new arms holding the reins (so they appear bulkier) or they have had
their waist's "fattened".

the standard bearer had a new arm built from fuse wire, which was rebuilt from "brownstuff".

Dismounted Figures

As it was easier to make standard German figures look Russian, rather
than heavily convert the Battlefield Russian Cossacks into German uniforms,
because of this i had to add plasticard sabres to some of the converted ground figures...

above - left to right, original figure, converted figure and finally the finished figure.

i think i might just paint the next thing i do rather than "fiddle" with them first... Rolling Eyes

Great work! The "little touches" are amazing- like the bush the horses are grazing on.
