I finally have enough Dragon and Easy Model pre-paints to do the one scenario out of Panthers East, Stripples Seven. All I have to do now is paint tank commanders for the unbuttoned markers and I'll be ready. Can't wait.

Tankalot, I was thinking to organize the same scenario when I'll be in Rome for the christmas holidays: my plan was to play it using 1:285 tanks with the 20mm tables for ranges and movement. On one hand 30 T34 vs 8 Panther will crowd the table a lot in 20mm (even ours, that is 240x180cm), while on the other one, the scale will better reproduce the ranges, with plenty of room for the Panthers to shoot from a distance and for the T34 to manouvre en mass. But I'm afraid I will not be able to really organize everything.....
just two questions: are you indeed going to game the scenario with all 37-38 tanks in 20mm? and do you play with a gamemaster (we do..)?
btw I'm looking forward to read a AAR of your battle Very Happy
cheers

Oh yes I do indeed plan on playing this scenario in 20mm. There is a total of thirty seven vehicles in this scenario seven panthers, twenty t-34's and ten t-34/85's. As to the distance I have a notion that the edge will go to the germans even at 4:1 odds. We do use a gamemaster, me, 'cause I'll be supplying all the toys and the terrain. This is part of my EF project. I have been painting regular WH minis as I started with support type stuff MMG team, CC and Plt CO, snipers things like that.
I started to paint russians awhile back but then decided to start on the germans 'cause they have alot more support types. It's kinda hard right now because I've failed to step into the 21st century and buy a digi cam to post picces with. So I have to arrange some picce time with a mate of mine. Hopefully soon on the picces, will keep you updated tho'.

Would you like an extract of the rules (Winzipped Pdf format ) in order to have a look, just PM Me.

I tried a lot of Skirmish rules and still consider it as one of the best. It is a very rich system, unfortunatly its owners does not look after it any more -seems so at last - and are not ready to sell its rights.

thanks mate, but don't worry...I would never get around to a skirmish game, unless it had Daleks in a misty ruined village in the Ardenne which is entered from one side by Panzer Grenadiers and the other side by inexperience but well kitted up US infantyry...now that is my idea of a skirmish..

I dunno who owns the rights to BG WWII at the moment, but you can still buy the books here: http://www.neo-forge.com/rules1.html. I seem to recall that the game designers are inactive but have given the folks at Neo-Forge the right to print and sell them?
