Well, a bit rushed (I painted it tonight after work) but here is my entry...

I decided that vehicles didnt really work for me as cavalry... and I didnt want anything as glamourous as real horse mounted warriors!

So... not being able to order anything and as always wanting to produce something of use for gaming... The FAA Chindit Mule Train home into view out of a box a couple of nights ago...

Now they may not be strictly cavalry but they are equine in form and these little buggers deserve some credit for their role in WW2. By 1945 SEAC had over 26,000 mles and donkeys in service and those that contributed to Chindit operations often had their vocal cords severed by the vet before going on the operation... Luckily those that survivied had the procedure reversed!

So they may not be strictly 'horsey cavalry' but I think these little guys deserve a bit of exposure for their logistical efforts in the Far East!

Plus everyone likes a bit of Ass... Wink

One stinking lousy night? You must have sold your soul to the Devil or something. Life is not fair. Those men and mules would take me about a week to paint.

I take it back, all those I've said I hate - I want to reserve all my hatred for Piers. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

But anyway, well done. You are far too talented. I suspect that, even if we did send the boys round to break yer fingers, ye'd still scrape an entry together, painted wif yer toes or summat, in two nights instead of one.

A very imaginative, well painted entry Piers but when I read the title I was expecting a pic of his MUM. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thats the special character for the army Alan! Laughing

Actually... even I was surprised how quick these were to do. They took four hours to paint from start to finish. Given me hope for finishing my Chindit army this year!

Plus there aint really alot to paint on them... Bit of drybrushing on the mules... and some baggage.

Not quite in the same league as the other entries. Embarassed

Very nice - do you live in the arctic - where the 'nights' last for weeks at a time?

Lovely job - the contribution made by mules in WWI and WWII is often overlooked. As well as severing the vocal cords - some were also painted green!

Regards
