Four Airfix Universal Carriers, a Pair of Cromwell Windsor Carriers and an Ostmodels Lloyd Carrier

Got really good at constructing the Airfix kits in the end, you can build one in just over 1/2 hour. Like all the early Airfix kits they sorta fit together and sorta don't. I discovered the best construction technique was to remove all the locating lugs before assembly

The Lloyd came missing most of its interior Sad so I'm going to build a tilt. Not very sure how I'm going to paint the inside of the tilt as it needs to be moulded in place - perhaps I can get some black paper?

Cheers

Bob

Might take a while.... Very Happy

Got some crews and stuff on the way from SHQ (be interesting to see how long it takes) - I wonder if I should have ordered some more

Bob

just fill the Lloyd up with stowage and then you won't need to scratch the interior. I think I used a few packs of the SHQ 6pdr ammo boxes and some cigarette paper as a means to an end

One of the advantages of giving the Lloyd a Tarp is I can then interchange it between an 6pdr tractor and a 4.2" tractor Smile

Bob, I've often wondered about the 4.2", did they tow it as with the 120mm German/Russian mortar or carry it in the vehicle ?

It was carried in a trailer. I've got a drawing and photos somewhere...

Built the frame out of .75mm rod, put standard cartridge paper over it, glued the edges with super glue than spoacked in dilute PVA

Sorry 'bout the blurring

Finished!

Nice job on the canvas cover. Do you remember the Airfix Universal carrier I posted on the old forum? I made some extra details with green stuff.

Regards
