Actually more of a squad composition.

Can anyone point me to information on squad composition for infantry in current indian army - numbers, weapons. Looking more from a counter-insurgency basis rather than full scale war.

Thank you

Hi

A couple of suggestions on where to look and I also checked the archives and files. Got some additional info but nothing specific for the Counter-Insurgency in Jammu Kashmir. Having said that looking at some Indian sites and with the info received I think I have pieced together likely squad equipment.

They seem to have the Carl Gustav in use - presumably for destroying buildings/cover - not certain if this is deployed at squad or platoon level.

On a general note having read the posts to the group since I joined I am amazed at the knowledge of people out there.

Thanks

Jeremy

given the current tensions between the australian & indian cricket team I would advise a squad of 11 men with 2 reserves armed with eith Kookaburra or Slazenger personal protection devices made from willow and hand propelled red rockets with probably 4 specialist's in this field and maybe a couple of part timer back ups Laughing Laughing

sorry couldn't resist, the concept of people burning effigy' at any time is foreign to me, but of a couple of cricket umpires leaves me speechless Rolling Eyes
