Hi all, I'm still working on my Panzer Lehr for Rapid Fire.

I used to have a great amount of information on the old showcase forum, but sadly it is lost now Sad

Recently I found this OoB, but I'm also interested in the strenght of Lehr during the Ardennes.

This is the list for D-day:

PLD HQ Staff inc:
Divisional Escort Company:
HMG sect.
Hvy Mortar sect.
2cm Flakpanzer 38t sect.
Pak 40 AT sect.

Pz Lehr Rgt 130
Rgt Staff Comp: 3xPzV, 5xPzIV, 12xFlakpz38t (later Ostwind)

1st Btn/Pz Reg 6 (seconded from 3rd Pz Div): Btn staff inc
2xWirbelwind. 4xPanzer Companies each with 17xPzV (according to
Ritgen. The Perrigault book (see below) has comps 1 & 2 with
20xPzV, comps 3 & 4 with 19 each.)

2nd Btn/Pz Reg 130: same organisation as Panther Co. but with
4x(22xPzIV).

Funklenk-kompanie 316: 9xStuG, 5xPorsche turret TigerII(scuttled),
possibly 3xTigerI, unknown no. of BIV radio-controlled tanks.

Pz Gren Lehr Rgt 901:
Staff Comp. inc. 3xSPW 251/16 (flamethrower), 2xPak40

1st Btn/901: Btn comp., 3xPzGren Comp. each with 22xSPW 251,
1xHeavy Comp. with 13xSPW 251/1, 6xSPW 251/9

2nd Btn/901: as above

9th (sIG) comp: 6x150mm SP (38t)

10th (Pioneer) comp: 6xSPW 251/16,1x251/9,2xmortars,3xPzschreck

11th (flak) comp: 8xSdKfz10/5, 2xFlakvierling

Pz Gren Lehr Rgt 902:
as for PGLR 901 but without the flak comp. The Division was
unique in that both Pz Gren. Rgt. were fully armoured.

Pz Recce Btn. 130:
2xarmoured car comps. (1st with 26xPuma, 2nd with 26xSPW 250/9)
2xpz gren comps. with 26xSPW 251
1xheavy pz gren. comp.

Pz Jaeger Lehr Btn. 130:

I think you've given the division too many FlakPz 38(t), the Panzer Regt had 12 but the Flak vehicles in the Div Escort Company weren't FlazPz 38(t) but half-track SP.

Mark, ALL of Lehr PzGren were armoured, they had a mix of C and D 251's.

Hi Alan, the information I have there is only a quote. How many of the flaks were SP, and what type were they?

Converting the list above in a playeble Rapid Fire! army:
PLD HQ Staff inc:
Divisional Escort Company:
HMG sect.
Hvy Mortar sect.
2cm Flakpanzer 38t sect.
Pak 40 AT sect.

Quote:
Pz Lehr Rgt 130
Rgt Staff Comp: 3xPzV, 5xPzIV, 12xFlakpz38t (later Ostwind)

This leaves me some options. I could either take a Panzer IV, or Panther as command vehicle, together with a FlaK Panzer 38t anyway. Does anybody know what command vehicle was used?

By giving in on the Flak here, I can give the Battalion HQ's each a Wirbelwind, even if they only had two. Seems justified to me.

Quote:
1st Btn/Pz Reg 6 (seconded from 3rd Pz Div): Btn staff inc
2xWirbelwind. 4xPanzer Companies each with 17xPzV (according to
Ritgen. The Perrigault book (see below) has comps 1 & 2 with
20xPzV, comps 3 & 4 with 19 each.)

A command PzV, with a Wirbelwind. I'll stick to Ritgen, so 4x 3 Panthers

Quote:
2nd Btn/Pz Reg 130: same organisation as Panther Co. but with
4x(22xPzIV).

Did the HQ have a Panzer III or IV command tank? Wirbelwind, and 4x 4 Panzer IV's

Quote:
Funklenk-kompanie 316: 9xStuG, 5xPorsche turret TigerII(scuttled),
possibly 3xTigerI, unknown no. of BIV radio-controlled tanks.

Well, these actualy never arrived/existed, or whatever, so I won't be bothered about them.

I'm not sure what to do with the regimental HQ...

Quote:
1st Btn/901: Btn comp., 3xPzGren Comp. each with 22xSPW 251,
1xHeavy Comp. with 13xSPW 251/1, 6xSPW 251/9

This makes it pretty easy, an HQ with 251/10, three coys, each in 251/1, and the heavy coy 2 251's and a 251/9

2nd Btn/901: as above

Quote:
9th (sIG) comp: 6x150mm SP (38t)

1 Grille

Quote:
10th (Pioneer) comp: 6xSPW 251/16,1x251/9,2xmortars,3xPzschreck

251/16

Quote:
11th (flak) comp: 8xSdKfz10/5, 2xFlakvierling

I looks fine to me to give this a 10/5, and a Flakvierling

1xheavy pz gren. comp.

The Begleitskompanie usually had a Flak Zug of either Flak 38V(SdKfz 7/1)or single Flak 38 (SdKfz 10/4). The fact that the Flak gun used was a Flak 38 makes the mix up with the FlakPz 38(t) understandable
