The Group Build 2 theme gave me the shot in the arm to finaly paint up some of these great 1/72 Roman Cavalry from the German company Art Miniature.

I intended to make a scenic base but, realsied that it would be huge, so in the end I opted for the reusable Wargame unit. I used my existing scenery and decided not to air brush out all of the obvious joins and seams, hopefuly they don't detract too much.

I painted these in a more subtle and grimy style as I wanted to get that on patrol in Northern England look about them.
Anyway, enjoy (I did) Smile

And now for some civis, a mix of Newline and Art Miniature, note the boy and girl playing hide and seek:

Finally a shot of a 28mm Roman Cavalry to give an idea of scale.

Thanks everyone Smile

The road, bridge and building with a courtyard are all 25mm Grandmanner (spelling anyone?) which seem equaly suited to 1/72 (true 25mm).
The Graves and two other houses are from Monolith (great stuff but, delivery can be ropey). All 28mm though as long as the figs don't get too close they look fine.
The terrain is by terrain mat
The fences are I think from Irregular Minis

Nice figures, lovely terrain, buildings, etc. One thing a lot of ancients gamers seem to neglect is decent terrain, so it's especially nice to see someone 'going to town' on the scenic aspect of the hobby.

Hi all

Really beatiful Matt. Very atmospheric, I specially like the civilians. They add a day to day look to the scene that gives it more realism.
Great scene.
