Excerpt from the Lemumba Times:

The glorious country of Lemumba which is striken with a civil war has recently had some new developments:

The government has aquired a new Armoured Scout System (ASS) which will be ready for action in a short while. The project overseen by the Chief engineer Ehb Ohla and is now att final stage of assembly. The vehicle will be named "Wildebeest" and will be a useful tool against the foulrebels plagueing our northern parts.

May the Lions strength be with you!

Looks like a heavily modified Hasegawa Sherman. Why the new wheels?

And what will it look like at the end? Very Happy

Yes it is an hasegawa sherman which lost its wheels to my M-60 tank. Therefore I had to make some new ones. It will have a limited interior aswell and it will be turretless. (I think)

Not sure how to cover up the hole from the turret though, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Armament will be light maybe a .50 cal or a Dshk with a shield.

my own two cents

you could cut the deck off over the entire interior compartment (sealing off the driver and radio operator) and make it into an open top APC. In the front corner, build up a "box" or chimney that holds a gunner, dshk and ersatz gun shield.

now that the inside is opened up, you could put a couple benches along the sides and then raise the side armor up along the decks. To make it safer for the "troops" you could add some "loop holes" to the new side armor for them to shoot out of.

I would make the new additions look quite primative compared to the lines of the sherman and paint them differently, with more rust etc.

Somebody is having fun! All power to your elbow for scratching new wheels Shocked

The simple answer (though the most boring) is to plate the hole over,

I designed this which I call the Wallaby given the desire of the Brits to call APCs by Marsiupial names:O)

I know that you will have fun with your project:O)

Thank you all for the input!

I will have an armoured cover with hatches which will be open. Armament will be either a DSHK or a .50 Cal. But a Recoiless rifle would look cool aswell...hmmm

I had to scrap the wheels I did they just didnt want to work with the rubberband tracks!! Crying or Very sad

So I decided to make new radical ones!! Twisted Evil
Chief engineer Ehnb Ohla new Mk.II suspension:

They do look a bit wonky but on the other hand they do look "fast".
