Security Droids.

All with using cheap Ebay GW stuff or traded bits.

Though I'm desperately short of Space Marine Vehicle Missile Launcher or whatever it's called, I'm looking at finding another 4-6 of those launchers to complete the entire swarm. (If u have some of these launchers spare, PLEASE, need them BAD!....not kidding here)

Coincidentally, they make good 6mm sci fi craft too Smile

Snazzy black gloss paintjob with individual white numer, maybe some white highlights and a blue or red eyes sound any good?

Johan

What bitz are you using for the front eyes? It look really cool.

As for eye colors, I use green as green is the evil sci/fi color because it was used for so many evil sci/fi bad guys ie StarWars Tie fighter bolts, Necrons weapons, etc. Red could work as well, but blue is the good guys color. Just my 2 bits. Laughing

Eyes = front half of IG Binoculars.

Hmm, green could work too, yes......

Brilliant gunbird. Some nice lenses on those will highlight well against a stealthy looking colored body.

This time it's not my original idea though.

A friend passed a link to me about a Tau drone on one of the Tau forums, and I PMed the maker of it. Sebastian made the first Al'Yon'Kor (Small Hunter Drone) and he sent me a lot of WIP's of it for me to work with.

So full credit goes to him Smile

Piers: if u want 10....man, U know how hard it is to get get certain parts Crying or Very sad If I could just get a decent replacement or stand in for the rotor section or one I could make myself, that would be perfect. But apart from making anti grav plates from other items no such luck yet. The rest of the parts are cheap and easy to get.

Life's a bitch....

They are well cool!

Doesn't GW mail order do separate sprues?

They certainly do.

But if I can get most parts for dollars or cents, why spend 4 quid on a sprue for just one part and add 8 quid (per kilogram) worth of shipping on that? Negates the purpose of it all, me thinks Smile (btw, I still need 6 of those parts. That would be 24 quid....I'd rather spend that on proper model kits....)

I find the american sellers of bits very handy, I can get most shipped for a fixed fee and only pay 50 cents to a dollar for what I need. Most of a GW sprue is useless to me anyway.

I thought they might do a sprue with just the weapons on

They have, thats the 4 pound sprue that comes with hatches, bolters, and what not. Good for 40K players, yes, not for me Smile

But GW making a sprue with just the usefull parts....thats so not GW, GW is about maximising profits by putting the various bits you need over several sprues so you have to but them all.

Good in a business sense, not so nice for a modellers sense (not at their prices anyway)

Unless I buy the sprues for my bits and sell the bits again online.......hmmmm

Back when I was into doing spaceship models the nice people in the local shop gave me (for nowt) some spare spaceship sprues, the sprues had the left over bits they didn't use for their display models - might be worth a go

Yes Bob, I tried that but most people tend to hoard them (cant blame then with the prices GW charges these days)

nr 1 is finished now.

A lot more to come if I get around to doing what I want with them.
